The aim of this special issue is to publish state-of-the-art research papers which address sustainability problems and challenges in biomedical engineering fields presented in 2015 International BioMedical Engineering Conference (IBEC).

 The papers presented at the conference that contain important information of lasting value may be submitted for review and publication in the Biomedical Engineering Letters (BMEL).

 The BMEL is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to the publication of original investigations concerned with all aspects of biomedical engineering and applied biophysics.

 BMEL is not the conference record, and only those papers that pass the review process and are in the fields of interest to BMEL will be published.

All the manuscripts should be submitted via the online editorial system, at https://www.editorialmanager.com/bmel/. The reviewing and the selection of papers will be carried out in accordance with the standards of the journal.
